Mansion del Rio: Activities

Guayaquil, in the south of Ecuador, is the country’s main port and financial centre where the nightlife, restaurants and shopping opportunities are second to none. The city has created a new identity in recent years including:

  • The Malecon 2000 project, a modern promenade along the Guayas River which houses restaurants, parks and the city’s IMAX theatre.
  • The regenerated and bohemian Las Peñas neighbourhood filled with art studios and workshops.
  • Santa Ana Hill with its lighthouse and lookout point offering great views of the river and city.
  • Duran Train Station from where you can ride into the local countryside - great for bird watchers.
  • Churute Mangrove Reserve.
  • Other highlights include the Parque Historico and the Parque de las Iguanas.
